Life to Words

|
Wow it's been a long time since I've posted. I think that I haven't done so because am not sure that any one is reading these and also I been busy writing and doing other things ministry related.

It will definitely go a long if you can drop me a message letting me know that you are out there and tuning in to read this.

Okay, now for the first post of the year. If you are my Facebook friend (atoneofhiphop) then you've probably saw this quote that I posted up "Life is not quoting what you believe, is about living it". It struck me how many of us find inspiration in quotes and words, including the Bible, but how few people actually live it. How we can identify with some verses or with words full of wisdom but yet we don't adhere to it. I wonder how we can easily find inspiration and identify with these words of wisdom but yet it's so hard for us to live by them. I know that words evoke some sort of feeling in us. They elate, inspired, motivate but how much and for how long?

This reminds me of the bible verse found in James 1:22-24 that says.....
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

Are we that dense that we forget how we look before we go out in the morning? I know I am not the only one that at least glances into the mirror in the morning before going to work to make sure that everything is in it's place.. lol. I don't think that any of us forget how we look. It is said that when you are asked to draw a person without a reference picture you tend to draw and image of yourself because your mind has an image of how you look. If we where to have the word of God locked into our minds like our image, then we would quote less and live more. Words will have life in us and we will live according to the word of God.

So this year let's not only quote what we like but actually live what we quote... especially if it's the word of God.
