How many times have you prayed and asked God to reveal to you his plans for your life?
How many time have you said to yourself
"If I knew God's plans for my life, things would be so much easier!"We seemed to be in a constant search for God's will, but we never realize that His plans for our lives are written in plain and simple English. We have not realized that His plans for are in black and white and are one of the most recognizable words he left us with. I believe that God has a general plan for all of us and He has specific plans for all of us.
The general plan for all of us can be found in Matthew 28:19-20
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
His general will for all of us is to carry out the great commission, to go out and make disciples, to go and spread the word of God, to go and baptize those who are willing. This is His general will for all of us. Nowhere in this verse do we see a time frame/limit or a best time to do it. I really like to get behind the meaning of things. The word "go" in "therefore go" at the beginning of the verse has a very important meaning in Greek. The word "go" in greek means to do as you live life. In other words the disciple making, the teaching, the baptizing, the sharing the word of God should be done in our everyday walk. We should not wait until the weekend when there is an evangelistic event or only on designated times and places. This should be done throughout the course of our lives.
The second will or the personal will that God has for our lives can only be reached or known if we are doing God's general will in our lives. See through doing God's generals will He can then guide you His personal will in your life.
The next time you want to know what is God's personal plans for you, ask yourself this question. Am I doing God general will in my life? See is not about the plan that God has for us but is comes down to our relationship with the Man. If you are not in a good place with him, you are not living out his general plan. If you do not have a close relationship with The Man, chances are you will be confuse about what is His plan for you. We need to put the Man before the plan.
It does not matter how much we plan out for our lives. What school to go to. What friends to have. What job to take. What career to pursue. Who to marry. Where to live. If we don't follow the Man our plans are bound to get jumbled up!
So put God first and he will make your path straight!
